Class III Rafting - Rio Jatun Yaku

The Jatun Yaku River originates in the Cotopaxi Volcano, the filtration of water from the Andean lagoons forms the Jatun Yaku (Jatunyacu) river. History….

Located in north-central Ecuador, Napo is a province in the country's Amazon region. The river that bears its name was the first tributary of the Amazon River, discovered by the Spaniard Gonzalo Pizarro. Francisco de Orellana sailed down this river until he reached the Amazon River and eventually the Atlantic Ocean. Tena is the capital of Napo Province and is located 186 km from the capital, Quito, It is considered the gateway to the Amazon region. Tourism is the main activity in the region. Located 520 meters above sea level, it boasts powerful rivers, springs, and waterfalls where visitors can refresh themselves during their visit. Misahuallí

Puerto Misahuallí is a rural parish belonging to the Tena canton, capital of the Napo province in Ecuador. Located 30 minutes from the city of Tena, where you can enjoy extreme adventure, nature, visits to indigenous communities, and magical hikes where you will see the amazonian flora and fauna in complete harmony. Misahuallí offers a wide gastronomic variety with an ancient culinary tradition. The most popular dish among tourists is the maito with tilapia, chicken, and bocachico. Maito is an ancestral cooking technique widely used in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. Bijao leaves are used as a natural wrapping, resulting in a dish full of aroma, succulence and smoky flavor.

Jumandi Caves in Archidona

These caves or caverns are a sacred place for the Kichwa culture. Their ancestors performed healing, spiritual, and spiritual ceremonies connecting with Mother Nature. These ceremonies were performed with guayusa and ayahuasca, a local plant with medicinal favors. Located 2 km from Archidona, the caverns are one of the most attractive places to visit in Tena. The exploration lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Deep within the caverns, you can observe underground streams and spectacular stalactite and stalacmite formations. These are natural formations of permeable limestone rocks that have allowed their formation over time. Inside the caverns, there are waterfalls that allow visitors to dive safely. The Yanayacu River runs through the heart of the Jumandi Caves tourist center, a magical place that every visitor must see!
